— John A. Griffin Dean, McIntire School of Commerce
To Our McIntire Community,
Commerce has always centered on purposeful exchange that strengthens the bonds between us and advances our society. As we look ahead to the McIntire School's Centennial in 2021, we are especially grateful for the invaluable engagement and support of the entire Commerce community the world over.
As so much of our lives occurs through the conduit of commerce, I believe a McIntire education enables opportunities to make a significant, far-reaching impact on the lives of others. You are living proof of that. Your loyalty to the School fuels our ability to prepare our students and empower our scholars to use commerce as a catalyst for change…
As a result of your gifts to the McIntire Annual Fund, the School was primed to face the complications of 2020 head on. Our response was greatly bolstered by the flexibility to radically rethink and restructure how we deliver education while maintaining the quality of our student experience. Your philanthropic support has enabled us to provide crucial technological enhancements, to facilitate virtual alumni mentorships for nearly 150 students, and to secure McIntire's future by retaining our exceptional faculty and recruiting nine new faculty members—all while ensuring the safety of our entire learning community.
It bears repeating that, every day, our faculty and students demonstrate tremendous resilience, an unwavering commitment to Honor and ethical behavior, and remarkable adaptability as they continue to navigate new ways of teaching, learning, and living. Our entire community recognizes that a McIntire degree remains a building block for a lifetime of success, and your generous philanthropy ensures that, no matter the circumstances, "commerce continues."
We could not have done all of this without you.
